Sales Design Manager

All Branches

Basic Function

  • Perform tasks and duties related to landscape sales, design, and project management of residential and commercial projects.
  • This position reports to the Vice President and applicable Branch Manager.

Authority

  • Purchase supplies/materials for projects using P.O. system with approval from Vice President or President.
  • Indirect management supervision of crew on job site.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities for Division

  • Safety: Reinforce safety protocols and ensure safety meetings are being performed. Participates in scheduled training, regularly addresses onsite training, and ensures that training is taking place.
  • Quality of Work: Provides accurate designs and estimates, make regular site visits, provide quality control and ensure projects are completed to specification. Demonstrates a proactive attitude and regularly performs self-initiated tasks for the betterment of the branch and its employees.
  • Productivity & Efficiency: Manages personal schedule, contracts, estimates, and leads within the deadlines established and adhere to scheduled office and field time. Executes sales process and demonstrates ability to regularly produce profitable jobs. Assist in managing branch labor. Works with other managers in a positive manner to ensure that jobs are scheduled, materials are procured, and details confirmed. Maintains a personal work desk, truck, server folder and contract accounts in an orderly manner. Makes adjustments to daily operations, divisions of man power and equipment in an efficient and profitable manner.
  • Customer Service & Property Damage: Maintains high standards of customer service and quality control. Addresses client complaints and damages, follow-up within 24 hours and maintains records. Demonstrates reliable communication with clients, quick to follow-up, polite, and respectful. Maintains accurate records of any customer damage and follows up to address any damages with customer promptly.
  • Attendance & Dependability: Arrives to work on time, works within policies established by employee handbook and requests time off with sufficient advanced notice.
  • Attitude & Leadership: Enforce company policies and procedures. Provides positive reinforcement to coworkers and fulfills management role in a respectful manner. Maintains a positive attitude with schedule adjustment and demonstrates ability to adjust crews and equipment in a reliable manner. Demonstrates reliable communication with superiors and employees. Conveys a positive image of Valley and portrays a positive work environment to employees and is respectful to employees and coworkers. Promotes ethical codes of conduct and initiates morale boosters for employees.
  • Equipment & Asset Allocation: Correctly utilizes equipment and assets in their correct capacity. Does not misuse equipment or instruct crews to utilize equipment that may results in damage to client property, company equipment, or the safety of our team. Reports damages to mechanics immediately and assists in training on equipment.
  • Qualifications & Certifications: Demonstrates thorough knowledge of landscape/hardscape construction and maintenance, including turf management, chemical applications, and overseeing chemical usage. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of plant materials and installation. Utilizes computing operations, including but not limited to: QuickBooks, Excel, word processing, Single Ops, phones, and email.
  • Paperwork Timely & Properly Filled Out: All work-orders/ sales-orders, contracts, renewals, daily crew routes, and associated paperwork is thoroughly maintained.
  • Follows Company Policies & Procedures: Understands and demonstrates thorough knowledge of Valley Handbook and policies such as sales process, management of employees, safety program, and reporting to superiors.

Requirements

  • GED or High School Diploma plus minimum 2-year advanced studies.
  • Valid Virginia Driver’s License
  • Design experience necessary
  • 2 years experience in landscape construction
  • Stoop/Bend/Lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for periods of 8 hours or more
  • Must be willing to work overtime and weekends

Customer Service Coordinator

All Branches

  • First point of contact with customers and leads for all 4 branches (NRV based)
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time
  • GED or High School Diploma required
  • Microsoft Office, Quickbooks, Windows
  • Operating Systems, basic computer knowledge
  • Background in customer service

Sales Responsibilities:
  • Ensure positive customer relations with leads
  • Reviews lead system to make sure processes are happening in a timely manner
  • Notifies Account Managers of any information pertaining to leads and lead scheduling
  • Communicates with Account Managers and sales support in each division as needed regarding leads and sales process


Production Responsibilities:
  • Calls in work tickets for Miss Utility to ensure timely production goals
  • Allocates customer complaint issues as needed to the appropriate manager
  • Handle and resolve customer complaints/inquiries in a timely manner


Office/Administrative Responsibilities:
  • Answers phone and emails in a professional and pleasant manner
  • Serves as the receptionist and the first person a customer sees when entering the building, professional and neat appearance is important
  • Interacts and communicates to office staff as needed to complete specific job duties
  • Sends out thank you notes after jobs are completed based on feedback from Account Managers
  • Makes follow up calls to clients as needed
  • Completes calendars for each member of management and monitors workload
  • Manages documentation with each Account Manager's leads to make sure work is being performed in a timely manner
  • Manages documentation pertaining to call log to make sure calls are returned to clients in the time allocated

Landscaping Crew Leader

All Branches

Qualifications:
•Previous landscaping experience required
•Horticulture knowledge
•Knowledge of mulching, pruning, plant installation, etc.
•Snow experience a plus

Must have valid driver's license with clean driving record

Maintenance Crew Leader

Required Qualifications:
•One year of experience in supervisor role with commercial mowing company
•Pruning and horticulture knowledge strongly preferred
•Snow removal experience a plus

Account Manager

Qualifications
-Extremely organized, flexible , able to multi-task, and enjoys working in a fast paced environment
-Experience with Microsoft Outlook. Word, and Excel
-Strong written and verbal skills
-Strong customer service and leadership skills required
-Background in sales, contract management and quality control in Green Industry.
-3-5 years of experience in the Green Industry
-Horticulture knowledge and basic insect and disease ID
-Registered Pesticide Applicators License (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
