With over 25 years of experience in the green industry, Todd’s love for the business goes back to his days growing up on his family’s farm. Before opening Valley Landscaping in 1991, he mowed lawns while attending Virginia Tech. Todd oversees the total operations of this residential and commercial landscaping and lawn maintenance firm. He also founded Lacie’s in the Valley in March 2001, which he named after his grandfather, Lacie Walters. Hardworking and dedicated, Todd values customer relations and continuing education in order to give his clients excellent service.
Todd is a member of the Southwest Virginia Nursery & Landscape Association, PLANET (Professional Landcare Network), the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, the Perennial Plant Association and the Virginia Turf Grass Council. Todd holds a Certified Pesticide Applicator’s License from the Virginia Department of Agriculture and is a Versa-Lok Certified Installer. Todd also holds a Class B Contractor’s License.
Todd is a graduate of Virginia Tech, class of 1991, where he received a degree in Agriculture, Landscape and Turf Management.
Brian has worked in the green industry since 1999. He started as a crew member, and then was promoted to customer service representative, salesman, and sales manager, and now serves as the Vice President of Valley Landscaping operations.
Brian is dedicated to customer service and satisfaction, helping his lawn maintenance clients gain knowledge, insight, and enjoyment from their lawns and outdoor areas.
Brian is a member of the Southwest Virginia Nursery & Landscape Association, PLANET (Professional Landcare Network), the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce and the Perennial Plant Association. Brian is also a member of the Virginia Department of Agriculture, and holds a Certified Commercial Pesticide Applicator’s License.
Brian is a graduate of Virginia Tech, where he received a degree in Agriculture, Landscape and Turf Management. Brian and his wife, live in Blacksburg with their two beautiful daughters.
Cindy started with Valley Landscaping in April 2007 as our lawn maintenance division's administrative assistant. In winter 2011, Cindy moved to Florida to live closer to her son. In spring of 2014, Cindy moved back to her Blacksburg roots. She decided that she missed us and we missed her.
Cindy enjoys the family atmosphere that Valley provides. She loves sitting out on her porch enjoying the country air, flowers, and Virginia Tech Football.
Originally from Newport, Virginia, Daphne earned a B.S. degree in Horticulture from Virginia Tech in 1998. After graduation, she spent several years getting hands on experience behind the scenes as Lead Gardner at Busch Gardens, Williamsburg. She then spent over 10 years as a landscape designer and sales representative with Valley Landscaping until 2010.
With a passion for design concepts, nature, gardening, and building lasting relationships with people, Daphne pursued other interests for several years including banking, owning her own business, and sharpening her design skills as a Landscape Designer with the Community Design Assistance Center at Virginia Tech where she enjoyed becoming more involved with the community.
Coming full circle, Daphne has returned to Valley Landscaping in a different role. Daphne feels fortunate to work in the green industry where she is able to remain creative, interact with plants on a daily basis, and invest in people.
Caleb’s love and knowledge for the green industry started during his senior year of high school when he worked for a local landscaper/nursery through a mentorship program. After high school he worked for Messer Landscape in Staunton, Virginia while earning his associates degree at BRCC. After graduating from Blue Ridge Community College he moved to Blacksburg, where he began working for Valley Landscaping while earning his landscape architecture degree at Virginia Tech.
During the five-year architecture program, he began to climb the ladder at Valley Landscaping starting out on a detail crew learning the year round maintenance properties and ended up as a landscape supervisor installing all sizes of landscape projects. After graduating from Virginia Tech, Caleb began working out of the Valley Landscaping Roanoke office where he runs the landscape division. Caleb’s many years of field experience combined with his landscape architecture degree allow him to create projects that meet and exceed the needs of his clients.
Nathaniel came to the Valley Landscaping team in 2013 with an extensive educational and work experience background. A 2001 Virginia Tech, Landscape Architecture graduate, Nathaniel owned his own design/build landscape architecture firm for over 13 years with a focus on hardscape and masonry elements for outdoor living areas. From project management to sales and design, Nathaniel has the knowledge and background to execute the most complex of projects while bringing a personal touch and feel that most large companies no longer can or are willing to provide.
David, former owner and production manager of Virginia House Movers, joined Valley Landscaping in late 2014. David comes to us with the skills necessary to maintain a prompt lead time. David works closely with our landscaping crews to ensure that they have all the supplies and materials needed in order to make the project run smoothly from start to finish. Although mostly behind the scenes, David strives to exceed the expectations of our Valley Landscaping clients.
David lives in Blacksburg with his wife and two sons. In his free time, David enjoys working on the farm, hunting, and flying around the countryside in his brother's plane.
Sharon is a plant/landscape design enthusiast. She designed her own landscape which Valley Landscaping installed. Sharon works behind the scenes supporting the production and sales teams. She makes sure every plant is available, accounted for and ready for installation. Her skills and dedication ensure that our clients expectations of Valley are exceeded.
Sharon lives in Blacksburg with her husband. In her free time, she enjoys learning about plants, hiking, snow skiing, visiting her 2 boys and travel.

The Two Things That Make My Job Worth It:
1. I continually find that the best part of my job is making something truly special happen for someone else or solving a problem of theirs.
2. Seeing a team of all different shapes, sizes, colors, backgrounds and levels of experience come together to accomplish a common goal.
I have the best family a 25-year-old could ever ask for: A wonderful wife and one four-legged furry child.

Mark Stone began his career as a Professional Landscaper at Valley Landscaping in 1998. That summer, working with one of our Commercial Grading Crews, Mark was offered a position as Supervisor with the Grounds Maintenance Division and held that position through the summer of 2002.
Mark enrolled in the College of Life Sciences at Virginia Tech and received a degree as an Associate of Agriculture in 2004, with an emphasis on Turf and Landscape Management.
Upon graduation, he accepted a position with a Block and Hardscape Products Manufacturing Firm in Franklin County, VA near Smith Mountain Lake. There he developed a passion for creating projects with Hardscape Products, Natural Stone, & Masonry Installations.
Mark later became involved in the Design, Development, and Installation of Landscape, Hardscape, and Masonry Projects throughout Southwest Virginia. He has been certified by the National Concrete Masonry Association and the Interlocking Concrete Paving Institute. Utilizing Advanced Construction and Engineering Methods, Mark has gained an extensive working knowledge of his field.
In 2015, Mark’s family relocated from Smith Mountain Lake back to the New River Valley. It wasn’t long before Mark was reconnected with his professional family here at Valley Landscaping.
Hunter has been with Valley Landscaping since 1996, and has experience in almost every aspect of the production side of the business, from lawn maintenance to a variety of landscaping skills.
Hunter holds a Registered Pesticide Technician Certificate and is a member of the Southwest Virginia Nursery & Landscape Association, PLANET (Professional Landcare Network), the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce and the Perennial Plant Association. He attended Virginia Tech from 1994 to 1996.
Hunter has two children and lives in Dublin. He enjoys snowboarding and has won the Virginia State Foosball Championship.
Mark has been with Valley for 13 years, in the green industry for over 20 years, and has been a registered chemical technician for 5 years. He loves working outside and seeing a job through to completion, without sacrificing efficiency or quality. Service to others is a virtue that is not lost on him, and the customer is #1 in Mark's eyes. He knows the only way to “grow” is by pleasing your clients to the fullest. Going the distance is not an option, but a commitment.
He currently lives in Christiansburg with his wife, Kim, and his daughter, Briann, who recently graduated from Radford University. He spends his extra time enjoying his lifetime love of watching sports and relaxing at home with his family.
Joe has been with Valley since June of 2008. With over 12 years in the green industry, he has experience in almost every aspect of the industry from lawn maintenance and landscaping to chemical application and turf management. He has had a Registered Pesticide Technician Certificate for the past 7 years. His favorite part of his job is the customer interaction and the strong team atmosphere of Valley Landscaping.
He lives in McCoy with his wife, Tracy and their Dutch Shepherd, Elvis. He loves any outdoor activities especially riding his motorcycle, hiking, fishing, and competitive shooting sports.
